Farming since 1997
Cape Winelands Agronomy represents the next considered chapter in a family farming legacy rooted in patience, precision, and respect for natural systems.
The Bosch family entered agriculture in 1997, cultivating high-stem red roses and Mission olives in the Cape Winelands. What followed was not rapid expansion, but decades of measured learning, refining cultivation practices, understanding seasonal rhythms, and committing to quality over yield.

In 2001, this approach reached a defining milestone with the production of the family’s first cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, pressed on the farm itself. The oil’s purity and consistency later formed the foundation of Rain Natural Skincare, where olive oil remains the central ingredient across its formulations.

Chen Family
Today, that same philosophy extends into a new agricultural focus. Through a partnership with the Chen family, led by Prof Charles Chen, a world-renowned and award-winning mycologist, Cape Winelands Agronomy brings scientific rigour to the cultivation of locally grown, carefully controlled, and guided speciality mushrooms, guided by global expertise.
This evolution is neither a departure nor a reinvention. It is a continuation: applying proven agricultural discipline to a crop category of growing relevance, where freshness, precision, and local production matter more than ever.
